oprofile enables support for advanced profiling, and is a standard part of 2.6.

sh oprofile drivers reside in arch/sh/oprofile.
Generic support using timer interrupt.
SH7750/SH7750S support.
2 hardware performance counters
Each counter supports 33 different events (such as measuring TLB and cache misses).
Capable of measuring approx. 16.3 days of profiling data.
Uses timer interrupt for sampling.
SH4-A/SH4-AL support under development.
